Officials from the British defence firm BAE Systems announced yesterday that merger talks between them and representatives from the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) have entered an advanced phase.

Military helicopter crashes in France, killing all six of its occupants
Six people lost their lives in a helicopter crash yesterday, when a Super Puma military helicopter crashed near the French village of La Palud sur Verdon, located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department.
